Even though the Davis Sr. Blue Devils scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Ponderosa Bruins still came out on top. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Ponderosa made off with a 61-60 victory over Davis Sr. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ponderosa.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponderosa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lake Liebscher, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Keenan Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Derek Barker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mcmurray, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Davis Sr. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Ponderosa now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Davis Sr., they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ponderosa will square off against West Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Davis Sr., they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 349 points over their last five contests.
