Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Phoenix Military). They strolled past the Schurz Bulldogs with  points to spare on Thursday, taking the game  40-24. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Firebirds with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   A'Shun Davis, who threw for 168 yards and three  TDs. Davis' passing game has become a key predictor of Schurz's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.  Martez Wilson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 47 receiving yards.
Phoenix Military's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Schurz, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 4-4.
 Phoenix Military does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schurz, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Pritzker  at 7:30  p.m.
