The Apopka Blue Darters suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Colonial on the road and fell 67-19. Apopka was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.
Colonial's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destinie Gordon, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gordon has scored all season. Jasmynne Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Apopka's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Colonial, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Apopka will head out on the road to challenge West Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Apopka in Florida (West Orange is ranked 102nd, while Apopka is ranked 259th). As for Colonial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ocoee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
