The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Marion with points to spare, taking the game 38-21. That's another feather in the cap for Grand Traverse Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Grand Traverse Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Bell, who scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Pavwoski, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Grand Traverse Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Marion, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Walkerville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
