The McCool Junction Mustangs can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They claimed a resounding 62-23 win over Bruning-Davenport/Shickley on the road. Winning may never get old, but McCool Junction sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
McCool Junction's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenna Yates, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Yates hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Brugger, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
McCool Junction is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
McCool Junction will challenge the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Exeter-Milligan/Friend will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Mustangs are ranked 48th). As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they will be playing at home against the Mustangs on Tuesday. Hopefully Meridian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
