The Weed Cougars won the last time they faced the Modoc Braves, and things went their way on Friday too. Weed managed a 36-30 victory over Modoc.
Weed's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dj Horton, who rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Horton was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Logan Bowles and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Weed's win.
Modoc's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jafeth Mendez, who threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ryan Weber, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Weed's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Modoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Weed does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Modoc also has no future games currently scheduled.
