The Harding Presidents lost against the Weston Trojans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Harding was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Weston. Harding has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Harding lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Craig Chandler, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Hasan Powell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists.
He wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Harding were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Harding's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Weston, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Harding will be playing in front of their home fans against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weston is on the road again on Monday and play against New Milford at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. New Milford is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
