The Napoleon Wildcats lost against the Springfield Blue Devils back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Napoleon was the victim of a tough 42-18 defeat at the hands of Springfield. Napoleon has struggled against Springfield recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Napoleon had strong showings from Makayla Kruse, who scored 11 points, and Ella Tassler, who scored two points along with three blocks. Tassler has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played.
Napoleon now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Napoleon will take on Anthony Wayne at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Anthony Wayne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Springfield in Ohio (Central Catholic is ranked 112th, while Springfield is ranked 512th).
