Martin waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Emerson Mavericks 64-61.

Emerson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Camden Schulte, who shot 43% from the field en route to 16 points. Jonah Macaluso was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Martin's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Emerson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Martin will take on North Shore in a tournament on Thursday. As for Emerson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Boswell at 7:00 p.m. The Mavericks will be up against the Pioneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 71.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
