Halle Feldman and Madison Camadine made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Feldman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Camadine struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Feldman scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Camadine scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Olivia Mueller was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Sydney Rogers was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Maple Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Watervliet earned a 10-6 win over Greenville on Tuesday.
Lily Donnelly was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Bagnardi, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Maple Hill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Watervliet, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maple Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like Watervliet struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maple Hill took their win against Watervliet when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cannoneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
