The Kennedy Crusaders came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Brooks by a score of 44-32.
Despite the defeat, Brooks saw an underclassman step up: Antwonette Golatte scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 56.3% of Brooks' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Skyy Harris was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Kennedy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Brooks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will challenge Christ the King at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brooks, they will head out on the road to square off against South Shore International at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
