The Stockbridge Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Hampton. Stockbridge has not had much luck with Hampton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Stockbridge had strong showings from Chase Little, who scored 12 points, and Kameron Jackson, who scored nine points.
Jordan Townsend was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points for Hampton. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Townsend has scored at least a third of Hampton's points. Dior Smith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Stockbridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season. As for Hampton, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockbridge will take on Lovett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stockbridge is coming into the matchup with 18 straight losses at home, meaning Lovett will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Hampton will take on Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Mason Lewis and Townsend.
