The Dayspring Academy Shires scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Varsity Opponent as Dayspring Academy made off with a 91-67 win. The win was some much needed relief for Dayspring Academy as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Dayspring Academy had a senior duo take command as John-Michael Martin shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a triple-double on 41 points, 12 rebounds, and 17 assists and Jordan Jackson dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Martin has scored at least a third of Dayspring Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Furdui, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Dayspring Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Varsity Opponent, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 356-1284-2.
Dayspring Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Saints at 6:30 p.m. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
