They breezed by LaVergne at home to the tune of 63-31. Given Lebanon's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while LaVergne is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lebanon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tiara Spencer, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Spencer hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Naleiya Walker, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Lebanon's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for LaVergne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Lebanon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Smyrna at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Smyrna comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
