It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Chipley Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Vernon at home to the tune of 42-0. Considering Chipley has won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Berry looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 172 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Keybo Decree also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The victory was the third in a row for Chipley, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. As for Vernon, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Chipley will head out on the road to face off against Holmes County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Holmes County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four last Thursday. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
