On Saturday, Chaputnguak lost to Aniak at home by a decisive 66-48 margin. Chaputnguak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Shaman players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Felagai Laumea, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Matthew, who scored 12 points.
Chaputnguak's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Aniak, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Chaputnguak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aniak, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cook Inlet Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
