McNary (Keizer, Ore.) trailed
Mountain View (Bend, Ore.) by 25 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 26-25 victory on Saturday.
The Cougars pulled ahead on a
Conor Nehl touchdown pass to
Cody Lain, and subsequently went into halftime leading 25-0. The Celtics took the lead to win the game on a
Drew Mchuge touchdown pass to
Tim Hays in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 14 points in the third, McNary still trailed by 11 points going into the fourth quarter. But 12 points in the fourth helped MHS pull out the victory.
The Keizer school didn't regain the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when Mchuge thew a touchdown to Hays.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Celtics, who were coming off a 48-40 defeat at the hands of Gresham in its previous game. The victory snapped McNary's two-game losing streak.
