Flandreau extended the longest winning streak in Big East this week by beating Sioux Valley, 49-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Fliers.
Garretson made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,806 from 5,963. The improvement came about via a 29-0 victory over McCook Central/Montrose last week.
Jace Christiansen and David Parsley gave Flandreau a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Christiansen threw for 11 yards and one touchdown, while Parsley ran for 104 yards. Mitchel Foster also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.
Jake Larson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cossacks lost to Chad Stadem's team. Larson racked up one reception for 34 yards. Ethan Koerlin helped Sioux Valley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.
The Cougars' Brandon Reif and Jacob Heumiller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Reif has thrown for 423 yards this season, while Heumiller, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 14 catches for 180 yards. Jacob Patterson from the Fliers leads the league in rushing with 751 yards.
A big matchup in Big East this week will be when Sioux Valley takes on McCook Central/Montrose. Peter Books' team is currently in fourth, while Ryan Evans' team is in third.
