The Stanton County Trojans lost against the Wallace County Wildcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Stanton County took a serious blow against the Wildcats, falling 52-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stanton County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Stanton County saw an underclassman step up: Avery Scott scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Scott is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Stanton County's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Wallace County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton County will take on the Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield and the Trojans are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Wallace County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
