Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Falls Despite Big Games from Landon Shotlow and Myles Allen

Fort Bend Elkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 42-34 to the Fort Bend Travis Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-45 back in December of 2024.

Myles Allen and Landon Shotlow certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Allen posted 12 points, while Shotlow scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Shotlow a new career-high in boards.

Even though they lost, Fort Bend Elkins smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Fort Bend Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Fort Bend Travis, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Fort Bend Elkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-54 defeat against Fort Bend Bush on the 24th. As for Fort Bend Travis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-57 victory against Fort Bend Austin on the 24th.
