Rylee Egbert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, University Charter got a massive performance out of Marissa Felus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Bailey Bolden, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
University Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
University Charter's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Johnson, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
