Meeker was the 64-26 winner over Vail Mountain when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Meeker Cowboys took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers on Tuesday. The Cowboys' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Sanders, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Drake, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points.
Even though they lost, Meeker was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vail Mountain only posted nine assists.

Meeker's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-9. As for Vail Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meeker will challenge Roaring Fork at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roaring Fork has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Vail Mountain, they will square off against Rangely at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
