If Metro-East Lutheran were riding high off their 52-14 takedown of Steelville three weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Metro-East Lutheran ended up on the wrong side of a painful 13-43 walloping at Louisiana's hands. Metro-East Lutheran were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-31.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their match two weeks ago against Charleston, Kelly were happy to find some success last Friday. Kelly made easy work of Doniphan and carried off a 28-0 win. Followers of Kelly probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Kelly's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Metro-East Lutheran's loss dropped them down to 1-3. We'll find out if Kelly can add another positive mark to their record or if Metro-East Lutheran can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Kelly's step.
