Everything went their way against Andrew Jackson Academy as Patrick Henry Academy made off with a 52-31 victory. The score was close at the half, but Patrick Henry Academy pulled away in the second half with 31 points.
Leading Patrick Henry Academy to victory were Emilee Stanley and Lillian Lucas. Stanley scored 17 points, while Lucas scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Stanley scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Laney Futch, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Andrew Jackson Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bella Carrigg scored 12 points along with two steals. Carrigg hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Patrick Henry Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry Academy will take on Beaufort Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, they will be playing at home against Calhoun Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calhoun Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
