Softball Recap: Lodi Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Lodi won against St. Mary's on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Flames' way against the Kimball Jaguars as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Flames might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Ashlyn Jubrey was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Lodi got a big performance out of Taylor Blank, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Bailey Nelson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Lodi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kimball only posted a batting average of .125.

Lodi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kimball, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.

Lodi wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Tracy on the 28th. As for Kimball, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against St. Francis on the 24th.
