The Lanesville Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the New Washington Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (Lanesville is ranked 397th, while the Mustangs are ranked 415th).
Lanesville has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over Tecumseh on Saturday.
Braydon Hodges and Brady Elias were among the main playmakers for Lanesville as the former dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Elias scored 15 or more points. Gene Klusmeier was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
New Washington can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They secured a 53-47 W over Medora.
Lanesville's victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14. As for New Washington, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.
Lanesville suffered a grim 62-41 defeat to the Mustangs when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Lanesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
