Lincoln-Way Central is a perfect 3-0 against Downers Grove North since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will face off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Lincoln-Way Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Lincoln-Way Central barely beat Bradley-Bourbonnais the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Boilermakers on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Lisabella Dimitrijevic, who gave up just three hits and racked up 21 Ks to keep Bradley-Bourbonnais off the board. Dimitrijevic has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Teagan Berkshire, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Doerre, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Oak Park-River Forest hit Downers Grove North with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies.
Viktoria Czech was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Bonk, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Lincoln-Way Central's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Downers Grove North, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln-Way Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Downers Grove North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lincoln-Way Central took their victory against Downers Grove North in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
