The Fort Hancock Mustangs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Crane Cranes on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Cranes 36-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fort Hancock has scored all season.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alessandra Jimenez, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and seven steals. Jimenez hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackeline Arriaga, who scored 13 points.
Fort Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Crane, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Christoval the next time they take the court. Fort Hancock will head out to face Christoval at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, while Crane will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
