Coronado has gone a perfect 4-0 against Plainview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Coronado Mustangs will host the Plainview Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Coronado is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Bushland. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plainview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Palo Duro 17-1 on Thursday. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Yaneli Jaramillo was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaylee Hawkins, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Jakhai Gomez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Plainview, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

Coronado was able to grind out a solid win over Plainview in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, winning 5-1. Does Coronado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plainview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
