In what's become a running theme this season, Moses Brown gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-14 victory over Mt. Pleasant at home. Given Moses Brown's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Kilties are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Moses Brown relied on the efforts of Vivian Stone, who scored six points along with seven assists and five rebounds, and Marielle Nassiff, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nassiff has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Kurtis, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Mt. Hope came up short against the Tigers on Friday and fell 50-42. Mt. Hope has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Moses Brown's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Mt. Hope, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Moses Brown took their victory against the Huskies in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 68-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moses Brown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
