Peninsula's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bellarmine Prep Lions as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Seahawks have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Pete Browand was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Kaleb Copeland was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Peninsula has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Bellarmine Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
