The Hutto Hippos were the 62-45 winner over the Weiss Wolves when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hutto took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Weiss on Friday. Hutto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Hippos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cylin Tate, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Tate has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Hicks, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Hutto's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Weiss, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-11.
Hutto will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Midway at 7:00 p.m. Midway is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Weiss, they will head out on the road to square off against Harker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harker Heights has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three matches.
