After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson County, the Unaka Rangers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hancock County as Unaka made off with a 51-30 win. That looming 51-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Unaka yet this season.
Unaka got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alisha Harrell out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Katlyn Dugger was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Unaka's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Hancock County, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unaka will take on the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. University has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. As for Hancock County, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Claiborne has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
