Hoosier Heartland recap October 29, 2013
Tri-Central extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Heartland this week by beating Clinton Central, 35-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Trojans.
Sheridan took down Indianapolis Arlington 66-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Austin Hoover ran for 213 yards during the win.
Carroll's dynamic duo of Jared Miller and Brandon Dillon proved to be unstoppable against North White, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miller threw for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns and Dillon had 125 yards receiving. Kreed Switzer helped Carroll's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.
Hoover provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Blackhawks topped the Golden Knights.
Hoover was a beast in the backfield as Sheridan beat Indianapolis Arlington.
6-foot-1 quarterback Cody Howell of Tri-Central is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,059. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Switzer. The Carroll star has 24 catches for 495 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when George Gilbert's team and Larry Wright's team face off next week.
At the moment, the Trojans are in first, while the Blackhawks are in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Tri-Central and Sheridan face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 370 this season, while the Blackhawks have scored 331. Tri-Central scored 35 points last week as it topped the Bulldogs.
The Cougars made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,152 from 10,187. The advance stemmed from a 40-22 victory over the Vikings last week.
