Bishop Snyder is 2-8 against Fernandina Beach since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cardinals will challenge the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Bishop Snyder got the win against St. Johns Country Day by a conclusive 16-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Caitlyn Boshell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Chloe Gotto was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Love Omo-Erigbe also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fernandina Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bolles with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Like Bishop Snyder, Fernandina Beach also got a great game from a two-way player: Carsen Chmiel. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Chmiel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylee Murallo, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinleigh Curry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
The victory made it two in a row for Bishop Snyder and bumps their season record up to 12-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Fernandina Beach, their record now sits at 4-9.
Bishop Snyder suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Fernandina Beach in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
