After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Alameda, Bishop O'Dowd was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Encinal Jets 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Emma Brown tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaella Mercado, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziggy Savage, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
