Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Heber Springs Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 39-28 to Lincoln on Friday.
Kale Jones got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for two yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Jace Birkes also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Heber Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Heber Springs will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Lonoke at 7:00 a.m. on December 10th. Lonoke is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Lincoln, they will square off against Ozark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ozark's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games.
