The Dunellen Destroyers lost against the Calvary Christian Lions two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Dunellen was beaten by Calvary Christian 67-38. Dunellen has struggled against Calvary Christian recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Dunellen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joel Cruz, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hutchins, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Dunellen's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Calvary Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Dunellen will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy Memorial is coming into the game with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Dunellen will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Calvary Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Veritas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on February 21st.
