The Western Pioneers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Colony 42-14 on the road. Considering Western has won ten matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joshua Faulkner, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Malachi Alatorre and his 140 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Western's victory.
The win was the tenth in a row for Western, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for Colony, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Western will take on Apple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apple Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Colony does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
