Nitro is 9-1 against Hoover since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Nitro Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Hoover Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. The timing is sure in Nitro's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Hoover has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Nitro gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by South Charleston at home to the tune of 75-37. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-8.
Nitro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Newsome led the charge by scoring seven points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Makynzie Casto, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Hoover had to suffer through a rough 58-12 loss at the hands of Wayne. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hoover has scored all season.
Nitro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Nitro strolled past Hoover when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 46-30. Will Nitro repeat their success, or does Hoover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
