The Seagoville Dragons suffered their closest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of North Mesquite by a score of 63-60. Seagoville has struggled against North Mesquite recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Dragons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Gonzalez, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Travion Hall, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
North Mesquite's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jermiah Grigsby, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Grigsby continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Micah Vaughn, who scored 18 points.
Seagoville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for North Mesquite, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-10.
Seagoville will head out on the road to challenge West Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Mesquite, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Samuell at 7:30 p.m. Samuell is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
