Given Clark's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Amplus Academy is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Amplus Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Falna Ahferom. Despite the final result, he scored eight points.
Clark's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Amplus Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark will challenge Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Emmitt Bell and De'Shaun Tolever. As for Amplus Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
