After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Bernard, the East Lyme Vikings were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 68-55 win over Stonington. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Michael Timpano was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Oliver Hibbard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
East Lyme's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Stonington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
East Lyme will look to defend their home court on Monday against Old Saybrook at 7:00 p.m. Old Saybrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while East Lyme is ranked 48th). As for Stonington, they will head out on the road to face off against Ledyard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
