Washburn's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Harville, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Harville has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Billy Jo Wolfenbarger was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Even though they lost, Washburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Knoxville A's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Washburn, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Knoxville A will head out on the road to square off against KACHEA at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. KACHEA and Knoxville A are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Washburn, they will play host again and welcome Union County, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
