Hayward is 9-1 against Spooner since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hurricanes will host the Rails at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Hayward needed a bit of extra time to put away Chetek-Weyerhaeuser. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Bulldogs. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Springer, who went 3-for-6 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Xzavier Stojek was another key player, going 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Spooner waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Oredockers a 5-0 shutout.
Shamari Fahie was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrett Meier, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Spooner's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hayward, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Spooner's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hayward hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .463. It's a different story for Spooner, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Hayward's hitters?
Hayward came out on top in a nail-biter against Spooner when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Rails have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
