On Friday Trinidad take on Florence at Trinidad High School at 7:00 PM. Trinidad are limping into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Trinidad came up short against Center, falling 22-34. Trinidad got a solid performance out of junior Matt Martinez, who rushed for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 221.9 more yards than your opponent, a favorable outcome is sure to follow. Everything went Florence's way against Monte Vista as they made off with a 42-14 win. Florence were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Florence's win lifted them to 2-1 while Trinidad's defeat dropped them down to 0-3. In their win, Florence relied heavily on senior Rayden Swallow, who rushed for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns. Trinidad will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
