The Spencer County Bears took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They strolled past Assumption with points to spare, taking the game 61-45. For Spencer County, this counts as revenge for the 52-43 loss Assumption walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Ella Brown was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kayla Basham was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Spencer County's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Assumption, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Spencer County will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodford County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Assumption, they will take on Cooper at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
