The Rome Wolves were the 54-50 winner over the Creekview Grizzlies when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Rome fell 64-55 to Creekview on Friday. Rome has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Creekview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Finley Howard out in front who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Howard is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Amilya Taft (sy), who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Rome has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season. As for Creekview, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rome will challenge River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. River Ridge will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Rome surely won't give up without a fight. As for Creekview, they will head out on the road to take on Sequoyah at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Creekview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
