The Sardis Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Gadsden City Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Sardis suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 42-22 loss at the hands of Southside. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Sardis has suffered against Southside since January 20, 2016.
Gadsden City posted their closest win since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over Fort Payne.
Gadsden City found their leader in underclassman Madison Tinker, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tinker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karleigh Sheffield, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Sardis' loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Gadsden City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.
Sardis beat Gadsden City 48-40 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sardis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
