Cedar Park has gone a perfect 6-0 against Leander recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Timberwolves will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Cedar Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Leander likes a good challenge.
Cedar Park is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Lake Belton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Timberwolves blew the Broncos out of the water with a 49-21 final score. The Timberwolves pushed the score to 43-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncos had little chance of recovering from.

Trae Samuel Frost Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 229 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Those 229 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David Cooper, who threw for 161 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.
Cedar Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of CJ Rogers and Madden Kiev. Rogers is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Leander came up short against Rouse on Friday and fell 31-22. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.
Defeat or not, Leander got some senior leadership from Mason Montgomery and Ke'Marion Gordon. Montgomery rushed for 108 yards and two scores on only 15 carries, while Gordon rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown.
Cedar Park has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Leander, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Cedar Park has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 266.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Leander struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 199.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Cedar Park strolled past Leander in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 47-31. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Lions' Logan Mitchell, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Timberwolves to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
